Our Family

Casey and I have been married over 12 years! Casey still loves to cheer on his BYU Cougars and the Utah Jazz and I have time I love to squeeze in my Photography and running. These are some snap shots of our busy life with our 4 children. 2 girls and 2 boys!

May, Oh May

The month started out with a big change. Our favorite neighbors moved. Callie and Brandon decided to sell their house and put an offer on a short sell home. They will still be within walking/riding distance though so it isn't as sad as it could be. The new neighbors had some workers mowing the lawn and Evelyn heard it and looked at Callie and said "My Daddy's home mommy! Daddy's home!"

It's going to take a little getting used to .

Then we celebrated Cody's (and Evelyn's) 2nd birthday. Callie and I had the birthday's together at JJjump. We invited some friends and everyone had a blast! And I didn't have a house to clean afterward. Love it.

Cody REALLY enjoys his food!

“Why’s your cake bigger than mine?" “Oh yeah, I’m the 4th child.” (Sorry Cody, but we did go to JJjump!)294270272

Then Brooklyn and Olivia had the chance to participate in their school Talent Show. They were the Hula Hoops Sisters. We made them some “custom” hula hoops, and they did a routine to “Party in the USA”. They were so cute. Brooklyn was totally counting out the beats and singing to the music and Olivia was in “the zone” so serious.

We also had a beautiful Mother’s Day. I got a patio set with an umbrella and Casey made an awesome dinner on the grill. The kids all helped Casey make me a wonderful breakfast also. They get so excited about it and make me a card with my options on it and i get to choose what I want. (It’s like being at the Hospital.) It’s pretty cute.

For Casey’s birthday we went out to dinner with our friends and tried a new restaurant. (I think it was Hennery's or something.) It was very good!

We wanted to go camping for Memorial Day weekend, but it has been raining ever since Mother’s Day. The rain did let up on Saturday though so we took the chance to take the kids on a hike up Beacon Rock. I was a little nervous with the height but we had Cody in a backpack and the trail/ramps weren’t bad at all. The kids had a blast! We will definitely do more hiking this summer.

The boy formerly known as "Nate-dawg"

NATHAN (he corrects us every time we call him Nate-dog) is the big 5! He wanted a Hot Wheels party so I took him to party city and we got his party stuff. I decided to have a family party with the way I had been feeling. Plus Heidi was in town so it was still a big group. I made him a "hot wheel" cake, and we had our family favorite, glow stick dance party, with D.J. Jazzy Casey. I mostly camped out on the couch shaking from a fever and cracked rib. But Nathan had a blast with all his cousins. Nathan had been wanting an "Octo-battle" hot wheel toy from the commercials and I had forgotten about it. Then I luckily saw it at Wal-Mart and got it and some color changing cars. He was so stoked! He kept telling me that he had always wanted it. I think it is the first time I actually got him something he had really wanted. For 3 days he would show me the box and say thank-you. He can be so sweet.
Next year is Kindergarten and the school district has changed to an every day/all day schedule. So now all 3 of my kids will have tried a different schedule. I hope he is ready for it. He is starting his speech class next week and is all scheduled for it in Kindergarten, hopefully that will help him get ready. I'm so excited to see how the speech class helps!

(Thanks for taking the pictures Callie, since I was out of comission.)

Easter

This Easter we were lucky enough to have Heidi and Ryan visit. We had a delicious dinner at Mom and Dad's. We had rolls, a yummy ham, 7 layer salad, 12 layer Jell-O, and I made some deviled eggs. Then the kids went out for an Easter egg hunt.

Soccer season back again

This spring the kids wanted to play soccer, so this is our first spring soccer year. Brooklyn's first game was great, a beautiful sunny day. Then the rain came, and most games since have been alto cooler or rainy. Nathan won't play if it is raining, Brooklyn kind wines but still goes for it, and Olivia is our soccer monster. She loves to play and always has a good attitude. She is on a team this season with girls that are alot closer to her size and also really go after the ball, so she has to share some of the goal making this time, but it is pretty fun to watch. I wish I could go to all 3 of the kids games on Saturdays, but usually 2 of them overlap and Casey and I have to split up.

St. Patty's day came while I was sick, so Casey took care of it. He got the kids some green gum (that Cody sneaked downstairs and almost ate all of.) and some yummy Green Loft House cookies.

Life

After a long month and a half of sickness I'm finally catching up with life. In the last two days Casey and I have finally been able to do some much needed spring cleaning and organizing at our house. I finally have the energy to do it. I am so lucky to have awesome family and friends who helped me out so much! The second week in March I got what was probably the H1N1 flu and had a fever for a week and just felt crappy for another week. My mom and Callie watched the kids and helped around the house so much! The 3rd week I thought I was getting better but still felt so "winded" doing just normal things. I went to play volleyball with the ward the 1st of April and after one round I had to sit out a couple games because I couldn't catch my breath. I just thought I was out of shape from the sickness. (Although I had been training for a half marathon prior to getting sick...) Then on Monday, April 5th my rib started killing me like some one had seriously punched me there! I could hardly move! And by that night I was shaking, had the chills and a fever. All the while Heidi was in town and every one was over for Nathan's birthday party.
I thought my rib was out so a chiropractor friend came over and checked it and recommended I see a doctor in the morning. That night I also woke up a 2 with my legs and arms completely covered in hives. It felt like fire ants all over my body! In the morning Callie took me to the doctor and after a chest x-ray I found out I had pneumonia and had also cracked my rib from coughing. (What strong lungs I have!...)
So I realized that my race was totally out of the question and that it was going to be at least a month before started to feel normal.
Callie was awesome and totally took care of everything, and I had wonderful friends bring me some meals. I have a greater appreciation for health and I want to be more helpful when others are sick. Because being sick is SO lame !!!!

Lucky Day

In February we had a beautiful weekend and we decided to go to the Zoo, along with all of Portland. When we got there it was packed and they were shuttling people from another parking lot. So we turned around and when home. We decided to stop at a local park and play and eat our lunch, then go to our new library. When we got to the library they were doing their monthly craft, a winter Olympics theme, the kids were in heaven! Brooklyn and Olivia LIVE for crafting! (I wonder where they get that?....)
