The girls had been asking to do a lemonade stand all summer, and I kept putting it off. In August they decided to go ahead and make the Lemonade. They were so cute. They measured it by themselves and even put real lemon juice in it to make it even better. I tasted it to make sure it was ok. So who could say no to that? I gave them some poster board and they made a sign and set up their stand. Their first customer was a guy in a pickup truck with his dog. He was way nice. But that is not the way Brooklyn imagined it. She had envisioned all the neighborhood kids buying it, not adults. It made her nervous and she said she didn’t want to do it anymore. I told her that adults are the ones with money, and that I was going to be out there the whole time. She was ok with it after that, especially when a bunch of nice people from the ward started showing up. They had a blast. That was their first lemonade stand.
Then we hurried over to a friends house, where they were having a birthday party. It was all decked out like Alice in Wonderland. So we did a little photo shoot. I was supposed to take pictures of MaryLeigh, but my batteries died after only a few of these! I was soooo bummed! I spent way more time getting the girls ready than taking pictures! At least I go a few….
